Kensley Dougan began his financial services career at the end of 2008 when the economy was in a tail spin. People were losing their jobs and companies were closing their doors. During this time, Kensley came to realize the importance of making accurate financial decisions and decided to become involved with Financial Services.
What became very apparent to Kensley was a void in the trust most people had with their financial representatives, so he decided that he wanted to make a change in the industry.
While working for John Hancock and then at Guardian in New York, Kensley learned how many people were in need of his help and guidance. He began holding Financial Workshops with small business owners, dentist, doctors, and pre/post retirees within his community. His great work did not go unrecognized, and he was awarded varies leaders club and top of the class awards.
Kensley has developed a philosophy of protection first strategies that can help clients work towards safeguarding themselves from financial failure. He created a process to help protect, save, and live a budgeted lifestyle. While educating them on how to best use various insurance vehicles. His goal with each client is to educate, protection, grow their assets, and get them to their goals as fast as possible.
Kensley’s markets of focus are on individuals, business owners in the medical, legal, and technology industries as well as local entrepreneurs and professional athletes.
As member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Hampton University. There he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. While at Hampton he found a passion for community service by helping the less fortunate. Kensley also completed courses in Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Business Planning, and Retirement Planning at American College.
In 2018, Kensley went out on his own to start his own firm, The Theo Group. He started this firm because he recognized a need that his clients were seeking. They were looking for a full-service firm that helps them in all aspect of their life holistically. By starting The Theo Group, he has put together industry leading professionals to assist his clients with their needs and concern
